by Ariel Harkham In October 2023, as Hamas live-streamed the mass murder and abduction of Israeli civilians, anti-Israel protests erupted across Western capitals within hours. In New York, London, Sydney, and Paris, rallies cheered “resistance” even as footage of atrocities spread in real time. On elite campuses, professors signed open letters framing the attacks as acts of decolonization. In a historic reversal, antisemitism has not returned from the fringes, but from the core of elite institutions, influencer circles, and youth movements. According to the FBI, Jews have been the most targeted religious group in America. Hate crimes surged to historic highs. Yet in academia and media, antisemitism no longer wears swastikas. It comes cloaked in hashtags, open letters, and the relentless defamation of the world’s only Jewish state. Israel is no longer just a country; it’s a symbol. This symbolic charge hasn’t escaped the dissident media class. Figures like Ryan Grim, Glenn Greenwald, Krystal Ball, Saagar Enjeti, Tucker Carlson, and Lee Fang have all zeroed in on Israel. None of them are regional experts or diplomats, yet they claim moral authority. From opposite ideological backgrounds, they converge on a single target: Israel. These voices insist, “This isn’t antisemitism.” They qualify: “I’m Jewish,” or, “My Jewish friends agree,” or say, “This is about Netanyahu.” But caveats don’t erase patterns. Many critiques come from sincere anti-imperialism or elite scepticism. Yet knowingly or not, they reinforce a narrative that singles out one state - the Jewish one. Antisemitism is a chimera - ancient, adaptable, near-metaphysical. It persists. It offers a thousand doors, but all lead to the same place: the Jew, embodied today by Israel, as scapegoat. Food for Thought: by Steven Shamrak Most international news reports have been showing long, protracted, ‘heart breaking’ stories about ‘Palestinians’ dispersed in Gaza after Hamas waged war against Israel. Most of them show ‘Pallywood’ productions of almost ‘starving’ Gazans for almost 2 years! Although, they look quite well fed and are wearing pristine clean clothes. None of those Israel-hating news programs care to show reports about hundreds of thousands of Jews, who were forced by Hamas to flee their homes next to Gaza, and in the North of Israel due to constant rocket fire from Hezbollah! Zionism is the Jewish National Independence Movement Israel called out the United Nations for whining about the lack of aid entering Gaza, while simultaneously leaving pallets upon pallets of aid, already within Gaza, undistributed. The UN, however, appears content to keep blaming Israel for the aid shortage while brushing aside its security concerns about Hamas at distribution points. "No one is limiting the UN’s ability to deliver aid. The real problem is not access. It’s execution. The UN currently has thousands of pallets of aid inside Gaza awaiting distribution because their trucks are consistently looted, hijacked, or overrun by Hamas, armed gangs, or desperate civilians. This is why over 400 UN distribution sites sit empty," - a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) spokesperson said. (This is not reported by Israel-hating news programs.) Israel is urging the European E3 powers - Britain, France and Germany - to activate the "snapback" mechanism that would reinstate sanctions on Iran that were lifted as part of the 2015 nuclear agreement. The snapback provision is set to expire on Oct. 18, 2025. A senior Israeli official said: “All the previous excuses not to trigger the snapback no longer apply. They used to argue that Iran would escalate uranium enrichment from 60% to 90% if we acted, but that’s no longer relevant.” Biden Funded anti-Netanyahu Groups Congressional committee releases report accusing Biden Admin of "misusing taxpayer dollars" to fund anti-Netanyahu organizations and even terror-linked NGOs in Israel. The US non-profit PEF Israel Endowment Funds provided over $884 million to groups involved in "anti-democracy protests in Israel," non-profit Jewish Communal Fund (JCF) provided over $42.8 million to the anti-Netanyahu protest headquarters in Israel and the protests’ two main funders. (The funds are still used by the Leftist, anti-government groups in Israel. Hopefully, Trump will not fund them anymore.) Houthi Victory - Eilat Port is Closed The Port of Eilat will permanently shut down on Sunday, July 20th. Once-bustling operations dwindled to nearly zero due to repeated Houthi attacks in the Red Sea. Over the past 21 months of fighting, the Houthis have repeatedly launched drone and missile attacks on ships headed to the Port of Eilat, as well as on the port itself. (Israel needs to end the Red Sea shipping blockade. No other country is willing to do so!) BBC admitted a journalistic failure in its investigation into the lives of children in Gaza. Production company new that 13-year-old narrator of the program "Gaza: How to Survive a War Zone?" was the son of a senior Hamas official, Ayman Al-Yazouri. (Since the 7/10 Hamas barbaric terrorists attack on Israel, many Western news programs adopted pro-Hamas narrative in reporting news about war in Gaza - BBC the worst.) Egypt Threatens to Dump Peace Agreement Egyptian official expresses strong opposition to Israel’s military redeployment plan in Gaza, claiming significant threat to Egypt’s security and warning it may endanger peace agreement. Cairo strongly opposes the continued Israeli military presence in the entire Rafah area, as well as the plan to establish a tent city in Rafah to house hundreds of thousands of Gazan refugees. Egypt has reinforced its military presence and heavy weaponry in Sinai, contrary to the peace agreement. (Is Egypt next?) Anti-Israel UN Commissioners Resigned All three commissioners leading the United Nations’ anti-Israel inquisition panel resigned. The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory's chairwoman Navi Pillay, commissioner Miloon Kothari, and commissioner Chris Sidoti all announced they are stepping down. The exodus comes less than a week after Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced US sanctions against UN special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories Francesca Albanese for her "illegitimate and shameful efforts to prompt the ICC action against US and Israeli officials, companies, and executives." (Ms. Albanese has no integrity to resign!) Quotes of the Week: "At the moment, we are trying to obtain the release of half the living and deceased hostages, in return for a 60-day temporary ceasefire. At the beginning of the ceasefire, we will begin negotiations for the permanent end to the war. That means: Hamas puts down its weapons, Gaza is demilitarized, and Hamas no longer has any governing or military capabilities. These are our base conditions." - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - and the enemy population will be removed from the Jewish land. The Hypocrisy is off the Scale by Melanie Phillips The hypocrisy and double standards over the massacre of the Druze included those people who blamed Israel, the only country that went to their aid, for attacking Syria. Yet this slaughter elicited no condemnation from those who, day in and day out, signal their own supposed virtue by falsely accusing Israel of war crimes. The likes of Amnesty and Human Rights Watch were silent. Al-Julani’s troops reportedly slaughtered the entire staff at Suweida’s hospital along with their patients. Yet from those - who falsely accuse Israel of targeting hospitals in Gaza in order to kill patients and staff, and who wickedly ignore the fact that Hamas has turned them into terrorist hubs and thus made them into legitimate military targets - there was only silence. António Guterres, the UN secretary-general, posted on X that he condemned the killing of any civilians, omitted to place responsibility on al-Julani’s forces and instead blamed Israel for defending the Druze. Despite al-Julani’s blood-soaked jihadi past, world leaders queued up for a picture of them shaking his hand. US President Donald Trump declared him a “handsome guy,” delisting his militia, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, as a terrorist entity and lifting sanctions on it. All the new president had needed to do was trim his beard. This same fantasy generated the disastrous Western attitude towards the Arab war of extermination against the Jewish homeland in Israel. The West’s insistence on dividing the (Jewish) land in a “two-state solution” derives from its fixed belief that the conflict is over the division of the land. Accordingly, the Oslo Accords gave the Palestinian Arabs the infrastructure of autonomous self-government. The result has been three decades of a Palestinian Authority that became a global engine for the destruction of Israel and incitement against Jews. A few days after Oct. 7, young Palestinian Arab children were talking about wanting to kill the Jews. They weren’t children from Hamas-run Gaza but from the Palestinian area of Jerusalem. The perversity of all this reaction was hardly surprising. Much of it was wrapped up in a deep animus against Israel and the Jewish people.
