Wednesday, May 18 was one of the most intense days in Israeli politics in recent years, with countless strange headlines that Zionist Camp party chairman Yitzhak Herzog was about to become foreign minister. It became clear that Prime Minister Netanyahu decided to appoint Avigdor Lieberman the head of the right wing “Yisrael Beiteinu” party as defense minister instead of Moshe Ya’alon, in exchange for the support by the small party, with just six Knesset members, for his coalition.
It is very possible that this maneuver will enable Netanyahu to extend his term as prime minister for another year or two, but as of right now he has sown the seeds for his defeat and for the defeat of his Likud party in the next elections.
Very few figures in the Israeli public support the appointment that highly respected Knesset Member Benny Begin called irresponsible and bizarre.
If Netanyahu had given the defense portfolio to a person without experience in the Likud party, people may have accepted it. But by giving the portfolio to a person whose extreme views and statements regarding Israel’s security situation were rejected by the majority of the public in the last elections, he is saying to the Israeli public that I don’t care about you, I don’t need to ask you and I don’t consider you. Zionist Camp party leader Herzog claimed Wednesday night that Netanyahu agreed to give him the defense portfolio one year after his party joins the government. If that was true, it needs to be asked if Netanyahu has turned Israel’s security into personal political capital that can be passed within several hours from an irresponsible and extremist left-wing party (even according to Herzog’s definition) to an opportunist right-wing party.
Netanyahu apparently thinks so.
The fundamental problem is that Israel’s public has no faith that a man with no defense background, is capable of serving as defense minister, And that of course came before the responses in the region and the international community.
The defense portfolio crisis did not end with Lieberman’s appointment, it is just beginning,
The incumbent, Moshe Ya’alon, announced Wednesday night that he will not give up the portfolio and will not submit his resignation. In other words, he will continue carrying out his duties until the PM is forced to dismiss him to make way for Lieberman if their coalition deal is finalized.
This could threaten the unity of the Likud, or threaten to bring the government down. These are exactly the kinds of steps that Netanyahu had hoped to avoid.
In other words, one way or another, we are at the start of turbulent processes which may lead to a new election.

Well, ask them - how many Christians or Muslims have Jews killed - deliberately targeting them due to religious hate for not following of Torah instructions - during last several hundred years? The Israeli Labor party is showing signs of internal fracture as several party members called on chairman Isaac Herzog to resign following a failed maneuver to join Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government that ended with the appointment of right-wing Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman as incoming defense minister. Herzog blamed Yachimovich’s “extreme, radical leftist views” for pushing away public support from the party. (The main goal of the Labor party is abandon the Zionist dream of the Jewish people and surrender to the enemy. No wonder the Israeli voters do not support it!)
A senior Iranian military commander, Ahmad Karimpour - a senior adviser to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ elite unit al-Quds Force, boasted that the Islamic Republic could “raze the Zionist regime in less than eight minutes.” A senior Iranian general on May 9 announced that the country’s armed forces successfully tested a precision-guided, medium-range ballistic missile two weeks earlier that could reach Israel. According to the UN decision, “Iran is called upon not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology,” until October 2023. (Enemies of Israel ignore UN decisions, so must Israel!)
German-funded School Trains Terrorists
A school built in Gaza using German funds is educating their students on hatred and violence for Israel and providing children with military training. At the end of March, a Hamas-affiliated news agency distributed a video showing a Palestinian teacher indoctrinating school children with hatred for Israel and support for an armed struggle against it. (Western anti-Semites give generously to the enemies of Israel – no accountability is required! They are just happy to outsource extermination of Jews to anyone who wants the job, not getting their hands dirty!)
In light of a possible war with Hezbollah, believed to have 100,000 rockets aimed at Israel, Israel is forming civil defense units throughout northern Israel to assist in any future conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. Israel is also carefully watching the Golan Heights along the border with Syria.
Is Lebanon Getting Ready for Another War with Israel?
Northern Israeli residents are worried about new observation posts built by the Lebanese Army which has sprung up along the border. Although built by the Lebanese Army it is clear the new watchtowers can see into Israeli towns and kibbutzim as well as Israeli military bases on behalf of Hezbollah - if not with its own personnel.
Arab Knesset Members from the Joint List declared that they intend to ignore Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s directive and visit the Temple Mount for Ramadan next month. Last October, Netanyahu instructed Jerusalem police not to allow all ministers and MKs, either Jewish or Arab, to visit the Temple Mount. (Israeli Arabs are enemies! They admit their ‘natural’ affiliation with the enemy, the PA Arabs! )

The Israeli air force attacked two Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip last Wednesday night after terrorists in the Strip fired a rocket into Israel. The second rocket fired towards Israel exploded inside Gaza strip. Tensions have risen along the border recently after Israel’s discovery and destruction of two attack tunnels dug by Hamas inside Israeli territory. (Only by removing the enemy population, from Gaza first, Israel will be able to end the “Tensions”!)

The US State Department spokesman Mark Toner said that Washington had “seen reports from Israel describing it as the most right-wing coalition in Israel’s history.” “And we also know that many of its ministers have said they oppose a two-state solution. This raises legitimate questions about the direction it may be headed in and what kind of policies it may adopt,” he added. (“Legitimate”? Israel is a sovereign country – it has the rights to have its own independent government! What would the White House reaction be if Netanyahu made a comment about the anti-Israel attitude of Obama and Hilary Clinton, and previous presidents? There are too many of them to mention!)

September 11 and the Bali bombing, unfortunately, did not bring the understanding of the politics of Islam to Western homes. Only after the Madrid bombing is the population of Western countries coming out of its lethargic sleep. Too much attention was given to the Arab-Israel conflict during the last 50 years. Too much responsibility for global terror committed by Muslim terrorists is blamed on Israel. Information about the real source of the conflict is still being concealed from the public.
According to General Moshe Arens of the Israeli Defense Force, Islam has a simple and direct four-point plan for establishing eventual world dominance. All steps are being implemented simultaneously now:
1. Totally destroy and eliminate Israel as a country.
2. Defeat or neutralize the power of the United States by terrorism and world opinion. Destroy their will to stand-alone.
3. Bring all Muslim Nations into an Islamic Theocracy such as Iran.
4. Infiltrate all major European countries, Canada, US and Australia with Islamic immigrants.
World domination of Islam is the Goal. It is time to realize it. The war is global. It started when Mohamed began spreading “the true religion” around the world some thirteen hundred years ago. It is the war for survival of the Western civilization and Israel is caught in the middle of the fight between two giant religious ideologies.
