PA is Always Taker, Never Giver
Defense Minister
Moshe Ya'alon said Saturday that he does not view Palestinian Authority
President Mahmoud Abbas as a partner for peace, noting that he does not believe
peace will happen in his generation.
"I've
discovered this conflict is about the entire Palestine, they don't recognize
our right to exist here... it is impossible to make an agreement without there
being recognition on the other side of our right to exist as the national
homeland of the Jewish people." "Abu Mazen (Abbas) is a partner that
receives but not a partner that gives. He's not a partner for a final accord
that ends with the recognition of the State of Israel," Ya'alon said.
The issue of
Palestinian recognition of Israel as a Jewish state has lately overshadowed
other stumbling blocks over borders, refugees and the status of Jerusalem.
Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu was the first Israeli Prime Minister to make recognizing
Israel as a "Jewish" state a central issue of peace negotiations,
calling it the root of the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis.

Due
to the political upheaval in Ukraine and Russia’s hosting of the Olympics this
month, there has been a feeling among opposition that it can score important
points on the ground.
Saudi
Arabia in recent days has massively stepped up its support for the jihadists
fighting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The Saudis have been
pumping large quantities of advanced weapons to the so-called rebels, including
anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles.
The
newly armed opposition has already hit two Syrian military helicopters, one
near the Golan Heights and the other outside Damascus. The successful
implementation of the anti-aircraft missiles has prompted the Syrian military
to rely more on Syrian aircraft, with some Syrian warplanes flying close to the
Israeli border for the first time since 1974. (Weapons that are
so eagerly sold to the Saudis by the United States are now in the hands of
jihadi terrorists. Many of them, upto 9,000 - already “radicalised”, came from Western
countries to gain proper training and
experience in order to bring terror back home. It makes US administration a
friend of the jihadists!)
