Last Wednesday marked the 70th anniversary of the idiotic UN partition resolution 181.
For the UN it was an opportunity to declare the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People,” leading to a slew of annual resolutions, most of which condemned Israel!
The day was marked by the international body with one resolution which expressed “deep regret” that 50 years had passed “since the onset of the Israeli occupation and 70 years since the adoption of resolution 181 (II) on 29 November 1947 and the Nakba without tangible progress towards a peaceful solution.”
Another resolution condemned Israeli violence and “acts of terror” against Palestinians without any mention of violence committed by Palestinians. (I guess, international anti-Semites could not find paper to write a condemnation of terror the Arabs or so-called Palestinians unleashed on Jews before and after the Creation of Israel)
Speaking at an event to mark the day, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed that the only path to peace was the creation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel. (Not on Jewish land! Other options are not even allowed to be considered!)
“I remain convinced that the two-state solution is the only one for a just, lasting and comprehensive peace between Israelis and Palestinians,” he said. “The resolution of this conflict would also create momentum for greater stability throughout the region.” (He said, in deliberate anti-Semitic international delusion!)
Anti-Semitic ‘Ugly Nothing’ was criticized for only using the Muslim name for Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. “This rebrands Judaism’s holiest site as solely an Islamic one,” the B’nai B’rith organization complained, in a statement that rejected the resolutions as part of an “anti-Israel narrative that is pervasive at the UN.”
Note: Surprisingly, for the first time, Britain voted against a resolution calling on Israel to give the Golan Heights to Syria, saying that the resolution, proposed by the Syrian regime, threatened to undermine the credibility of the UN (Although, the UN has no credibility left to be undermined). The resolution does “little to advance peace or mutual understanding,” explained the UK delegate, adding that “it is unnecessary and disproportionate.” (Even Britain, the country which created all this mess, realized the stupidity of the UN anti-Israel bias!)
FOOD for THOUGHT by Steven Shamrak
The population transfer is a legitimate approach for conflict resolution! In 1922 two guys received the Noble Prize for this idea, after almost 2 million were transferred b/w Greece and Turkey. In 1947 12 million were transferred b/w India and Pakistan. In 1949 the 4th Geneva Convention was adopted to stop Israel from doing the same to hostile Arab population, which was left in Israel after the War of Independence. Since then only Israel is forced to abide by it! Jews need to stop being 'holier than the Pope' and regain our self-respect!
The UN General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to disavow Israeli ties to Jerusalem as part of six anti-Israel resolutions it approved on Thursday in New York. The vote was 157 in favour and six against, with nine abstentions. The resolution stated that “any actions taken by Israel, the occupying Power, to impose its laws, jurisdiction and administration on the Holy City of Jerusalem are illegal and therefore null and void and have no validity whatsoever.” (They were not so ‘pro-active’ when Jewish land was occupied by Jordan and Egypt! There was no other nation with Jerusalem as its capital – only the Jewish one! Israel can’t and must not appeases anti-Semites – they will only respect strong Jews, who are not afraid to take their land back.)
Some 15 mortar shells were fired Thursday from the Gaza Strip at the IDF post at the perimeter fence in the northern Gaza Strip. In response to the attack, Israel Air Force fighters struck targets inside the Gaza Strip. IDF tank units inside of Israel also opened fire on terrorist positions inside Gaza. (It is clear that only by removing the enemy population from Gaza will this absurdity end! When will the Israeli government start to act and do what should have been done long time ago?)
The PA distributed some $300 million to the families of terrorists in 2016, coincidentally the same sum the US annually provides the PA. The Taylor Force Act, sponsored by Republican senators Lindsey Graham and Bob Corker and co-sponsored by top Democrats, would require the Palestinian Authority to stop compensating convicted terrorists and their families or face a freeze in aid from the United States.
Lawmaker Yoav Kisch says the proposed increased fee is the way to counter human rights groups' "legal intifada against Israel". The bid to raise the fee from NIS 1,786 ($510) to NIS 5,400 ($1,540) aims to curb what its lead proponent, Likud MK Yoav Kisch, told the Haaretz newspaper was a “legal intifada” (uprising) being waged by Palestinians and their representatives in “flooding” the High Court with petitions against the demolition of houses built without permits. (It will not stop eager European anti-Semites and Arab states in providing funds to discredit Israel, using the self-destructive Israeli legal system!)
Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee member MK Sharren Haskel (Likud) called for reform of UNRWA. "Only two weeks ago a Hamas terror tunnel was discovered under a school run by UNRWA in Gaza, the second tunnel uncovered in the last two months. "During Operation Protective Edge, a weapons cache was discovered at the UNRWA facility in Gaza, and since 1999, Hamas has controlled the UNRWA Workers Union and the Teachers Union," said Haskel. "UNRWA funds terror, employs Hamas operatives, hides weapons and terror tunnels, educates to incitement and violence against Israel." (UNRWA was created by ‘Ugly Nazi’ to undermine and help Arabs destroy Israel! Israel must block any activities of this organisation and other ‘Jew-friendly’ NGOs!)
After it was revealed last week that some judges form political contacts to lobby for their advancement, Supreme Court President Esther Hayut forbade Israeli judges from establishing independent contacts with politicians and representatives of the Israel Bar Association on the Judicial Appointments Committee. (Israeli judicial system is infested by political appointees, mainly those who are aligned with the anti-Zionist left)
Syrian military targets will be attacked if you let Iran set up bases in Syria, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned Syrian ruler Bashar Assad via Moscow. Moscow made it clear that the Iranian presence was at the invitation of the Assad regime, and therefore legitimate. (Therefore, Israel has no other choice but to take matters in its own hands)
Hebrew University is facing sharp criticism for sponsoring a conference featuring representatives from Coalition of Women for Peace, an Israeli NGO promoting the BDS movement. “It is very unfortunate that Hebrew University opts to provide a platform for BDS organizations who are the embodiment of new anti-Semitism… It is absurd that an Israeli university funded by taxpayers could provide a platform to such an organization.” said Im Tirtzu Chairman Matan Peleg.
QUOTE of the WEEK:
"We Jews have a secret weapon in our struggle with the Arabs; we have no place to go." - Golda Meir, former Prime minister of Israel.
November 29, marks the anniversary of the non-binding United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181, which endorsed the partition of the British Mandate of Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state in the Land of Israel.
Ze’ev Jabotinsky, the grandson of the father of Revisionist Zionism who bore the same name, is a scholar who has probed the issue of Israel's rights under international law.
"The decision is contrary to international law, it’s very simple. We are commemorating the wrong event. The November 29 decision was made in contravention of the UN Charter. It was passed by the General Assembly, which sent a committee to examine the situation in Palestine and make recommendations, and the recommendations that were submitted were not adopted by those who were supposed to accept them: The British Mandate, and not the Arabs, as many think. The Mandate did not accept and did not fulfil the recommendations."
"Why recommendations? Because any resolution adopted at the United Nations Assembly is considered a recommendation rather than an operative decision. An operative decision is only made under Article 7 of the UN Charter and the Security Council."
"The recommendation was not accepted, and there are those who might think that as a result, the legal basis for our rights to the Land of Israel had been dropped, but this is not the case. The international legal basis was established on another date, which we do not celebrate and do not mention at school. This is when the League of Nations adopted the British Mandate in a vote in which all the League members unanimously accepted the Mandate and thus the Mandate became international law, and in this Mandate the rights of the Jewish people to establish a national home in the Land of Israel are recognized."
"It was part of the process that began with the Balfour Declaration, which was a declaration of intentions by the British government and a kind of commitment, but it was not yet part of international law. It was passed through the Paris Peace Conference, where an international hearing was held on who would be the sovereign nation in the Land of Israel. King Faisal, who was at that time considered king of all the Arabs, was invited there. He received from the British a promise of control over the whole of the Middle East. The British could not fulfil this promise because part of his kingdom was supposed to be Syria, and the French had been promised Syria and Lebanon. A clash ensued and the British crowned him over Iraq and his brother over what today is called Jordan.
"The British Mandate obliged the British to grant the Jewish people via the Zionist movement sovereignty over the Land of Israel if the Jews became the majority in the Land of Israel, and that is essentially the source of our right in international law. When Ben Gurion declared the state, he did it eight hours before the end of the British Mandate, in order to step into the shoes of those rights. Therefore, according to international law, only the Jewish people have the right to sovereignty by means of the Zionist movement over the western Land of Israel - at first it also included the eastern side of the Land of Israel, but we gave up the eastern part."
