Only Retaking Gaza will Work!
by Ido Ben Porat
Former Israeli National Security Adviser Yaakov Amidror said that the only way Israel will be able to completely stop the rocket fire from
Gaza is for the IDF to retake the region. "We’ve
never had a crushing blow that hurt the other side’s the ability to launch
missiles," adding that he believes the only way to achieve complete quiet
is to "retake Gaza and be there for six months to a year to clean it
out." (Why always half-measures? Israel needs to use this opportunity and
remove all enemy population from Jewish land. Jews in Negev and South Israel deserve to live and feel free and
secure!)
He explained that the extent of the IDF’s operation
in Gaza depends on “how much we are willing to pay for quiet
in the south.” Amidror estimated that an operation
retaking Gaza would require three to 13 days.
He stressed that the price of such a military
operation would be dozens of casualties, but added, "I think eventually
there will be no choice. If we cannot force Hamas to ask for a ceasefire by
attacking from the air, we may have to go into Gaza.” (Maybe Israel needs to change its brand of National
Security Advisers? Is Netanyahu willing to listen? Why have a ceasefire, which
Hamas has never honored before and has broken all of them almost immediately? How
long is Israel willing to perpetuate this stupidity?)
Need to Remove Cancer!
On Thursday afternoon, July 10, the IDF advised
100,000 Gaza civilians to leave their homes in the northern Gaza villages of Beit Lahiya,
Beit Hanoun, Greater Ibsen and Smaller Ibsen and head
west to the coast or south, to remove themselves from
danger. This order, issued shortly after a special Israeli cabinet meeting, suggested
that an Israel military incursion is impending. During the day,
Hamas kept up its barrage, firing 100 rockets, so demonstrating that its rocket
capability was not impaired by three days of massive Israeli air strikes. (Netanyahu needs to take advice from an oncologist who to
deals with the enemies.)
120
Rockets Fired from Gaza
at Israel
in One Day!
Some 120 rockets from Gaza were fired at Israel on Tuesday, the
first day of the IDF’s Operation Protective Edge. 23 of the rockets were
intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
It was the most serious flare-up in and around the Islamist-controlled
territory since November 2012. Crowds of Muslims (most
of them are residents of Israel) gather at Al Aqsa mosque to celebrate rockets reaching Jerusalem. Another half a
million Israelis came under rocket attack before dawn on Friday, July 11, as
Hamas again expanded its rocket radius up to Haifa, 150 km north of the Gaza
Strip. (After watching international news from Gaza presented by
several networks, it feels like those ‘Israel-lovers’ are almost frustrated
with the success of the Iron Dom system - that no Jews have been killed by
rockets fired from Gaza!)
All Israel within
Range
First Hamas rocket hits Nahariya, a small
resort town 15 minutes drive from the Lebanese border. The rocket traveled 172 km. Nahariya,
frequently blasted by Hizballah Katyushas
in the past.
Food for Thought by Steven Shamrak
Unfortunately, the Operation
Protective Edge is looking like its predecessors - Operation Cast Lead in
2008-9 and Operation Pillar of Defense in 2012, which ended with Hamas still in
power in the Gaza
Strip. Will Israel
complete the mission this time - destroying terror infrastructure and removing
enemy population from Jewish land?
‘Inactive’
Netanyahu Losing Allies
The
head of Yisrael Beiteinu,
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, informed Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of his intention to dissolve the Yisrael Beiteinu party's joint
faction with Likud, saying that it was "not working". The decision
comes against a backdrop of Lieberman's fierce criticism of Netanyahu for Israel's tempered response to Hamas as the rocket strikes
continue from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
Half of Israel under Attack - Hamas Smuggling Terrorists
First
Hamas rockets were fired or intercepted on Tuesday night, July 8, over Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Rishon Lezion, Givatayim, Raanana, Caesarea and Yavne. House was hit
in N. Jerusalem. Hamas also made several attempts to smuggle
terrorists into Israel for attacks: The IDF repelled a Hamas naval commando landing on Ashkelon’s Zikkim beach. Another group of terrorists tried to creep
into Israel through a tunnel under the Kerem
Shalom crossing.
Even BBC
Outraged by Fake anti-Israel Propaganda
The
British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) published a short report last Tuesday in
which it warned that many of the graphic images that are being shared on social
media, purporting to show destruction that the IDF is wreaking in Gaza, are not
in fact photos from Operation Protective Edge - “investigation has found that
many of these images are not from the latest conflict and not even from Gaza.
Some date as far back as 2009 and others are from conflicts in Syria and Iraq.”
Israel
Allows Aid into Gaza
Despite Fighting
More
than 200 trucks of goods including food and basic products passed into Gaza from Israel, including some 200,000 liters of fuel daily. Rambam Health Care Campus provides medical care to patients
from Gaza and the PA. Currently, hospitalized Palestinians
include three adults and eight children from Gaza.
Not
so Helpless Enemy
The
long-range Hamas rockets that reached Hadera 110km
north of Gaza Tuesday, July 8, have been identified as the
Syrian-made M-302 Khaibar missiles which Hizballah launched against Haifa in the 2006 Lebanon War. Hamas has several hundred
of them. It is based on Iranian technology, deriving from the Chinese WS-1. Hizballah engineers posted in the Gaza Strip helped Hamas
improve the M-302 and extend its range and accuracy.
Hamas
Attacked Dimona
Hamas
launched a salvo of missiles at Israel’s main nuclear facility on Wednesday night. Three
rockets were aimed towards the southern Israeli town of Dimona and the nearby Negev nuclear reactor and research centre.
IDF
Gets New Iron Dome Battery
The
IDF received a new battery, the eighth one, was given to the Israel Air Force
on Friday afternoon. The battery became operational in the evening hours and
will improve Israel’s ability to defend residents from rocket attacks. The Iron Dome, which
is designed to intercept rockets that are fired towards populated area, has
proven very effective and its success rate was listed as 90% in 2012.
The Power of Intimidating Mob
A
38 year-old man was assaulted in Malmö, Sweden, a week ago - for the sole crime
of hanging an Israeli flag in his window. The assailants broke the man's window
first, than ten people chased the man from his building, wielding iron pipes.
He managed to narrowly escape his attackers and was taken to hospital with
serious injuries. (Many Europeans, not just Jews,
live in the shadow of Islamic/Arab violence threat, fearing to express freely their
political views!)
Violation
of International Law not a problem for Hamas
Hours
after IDF Spokesperson’s Unit continues to expose Hamas’s
use of civilians as human shields a Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri
admitted that the group uses civilians as human shields and encouraging Gazans
to continue to do this. (Predictably, there is no
‘outrage’ in UN about it!) Some
of the civilian casualties were a result of terrorists using civilians as human
shields, a fact which Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu emphasized in a
statement on Tuesday evening. "The IDF aims its actions against Hamas
terrorists and not against innocent civilians,” Netanyahu stressed. “But Hamas
purposely hides behind Palestinian civilians, and therefore bears
responsibility when they are inadvertently hit.”
Nazi
Poster Baby was Jewish
When
Hessy Taft was six months old, she was a poster child
for the Nazis. Her photograph was chosen as the image of the ideal Aryan baby,
and distributed in party propaganda. But what the Nazis didn’t know was that
their perfect baby was really Jewish. (And the perfect
Aryan man was a little ‘shmendrik’ from Austria :)
Bahrain Ordered a US Diplomat to Leave Country
Bahrain has ordered a top US diplomat, US Assistant Secretary of State for
Democracy, Human Rights and Labour Tom Malinowski to
leave the country after he met with a leading Shia opposition group.
Malinowski, who arrived in the country a day before and had been scheduled to stay
for three days, was ordered to leave after meeting with Bahrain's Shia opposition group, Al-Wefaq.
(Israel must take a lesson of self-respect from
the enemies. Any Western diplomat or reporter who is meeting and promoting
legitimacy of the fake Palestinians must be deported from Israel!)
It
is All in the Name
“West Bank”: Claims that “Judea and Samaria” is simply the “biblical name for the West Bank” stands history on its head. The Hebrew-origin terms “Judea” and “Samaria” were used through 1950, when invading (Trans-)Jordan renamed them the “West Bank” in order to disassociate these areas of the Jewish homeland from Jews.
The UN’s own 1947 partition resolution referred not to “West Bank,” but to “the hill country of Samaria and Judea.” Under this formulation, Jordan is the “East Bank” of the original Palestine
Mandate, which was designated as the homeland for the Jewish People.
Egypt Limit Exit from Gaza
Egypt provides limited opening of the Rafah crossing with Gaza providing a small glimmer of hope for Gazans to leave. After nearly a month of closure, Egypt opened Gaza's main gate to the outside world, but travelling is
restricted to medical patients and people seriously wounded by Israeli air
strikes. Gaza’s Interior Ministry announced that Egyptian passport
holders would also be eligible to leave through Rafah.
Quote of the Week:
"How can it be that,
after we have three boys kidnapped and murdered, and two consecutive weeks of
rocket fire, Israel's
approach is: silence will be met with silence? …We must accept the reality that
this is a mistake. Instead of dealing with the problem, we are rejecting the
problem." - Avigdor
Lieberman, Israeli Foreign Minister, commenting on Netanyahu’s speech - When a country has no plans for future, lazy politicians
chose the ugly status quo!
Jewish Self-Haters still Delusional
Alan Elsner, a vice
president of communications for J Street a nonprofit group advocating peace between Israel and the Palestinians based on a two-state solution
wrote that:
In the Jewish world, we are all hurting right now, all angry... it is more important than ever to remember
our heritage and our values. "Justice, justice, shall you pursue,"
declares the Book of Deuteronomy 16:20. (suddenly he
became religious?)
…Worst of all would be to react as Israel has
responded so many times in the past ...it would drive another stake into the
heart of the two-state solution - which remains the only sane and just way of resolving
the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (CNN, another
‘friend’ of Israel, published this article, but distanced
itself from its idiocy. He did not write this ‘windy’ article at the time when
IDF was searching for kidnapped Jewish teens, while PA/Hamas were celebrating
and distributing sweets to Arab children - and this group of self-hating Jewish
hypocrites has made no public comments while almost 800 rockets have been fired
at Israel from Gaza!)
