Rabbi Steven Pruzansky, Esq. Defeating Hamas and freeing all our hostages are both worthy objectives but they are incompatible. Have we learned nothing? For all the government hype, spin, and bluster since October 8, 2023, in the end, has anything changed? This is not the agreement of either a victorious nation or a nation poised for victory in six weeks. Hamas is not defeated. Gaza will continue to pose a security threat to Israeli citizens, and all the hostages will likely not be released. Hamas is evil but not foolish. The hostages are Hamas’ best asset, because Hamas knows its incarceration of Israeli hostages leads our people and government to act emotionally, which is to say self-destructively and recklessly. There will be joy at the release of the freed hostages, at least by the families of those released. I will feel relief, not joy. The joy will appear on the faces of the Arabs who have once again seen their psychopath-terrorists murder Jews and literally get away with it. Today, ours is not the face of victory. Have we squandered the lives of our precious soldiers just to restore the status quo of October 6, 2023? Most importantly, if the war resumes after the end of the cease fire, how many our soldiers will be killed once again conquering the same swaths of Gaza, now fully booby-trapped and mined? Why would any soldier want to go back there, especially knowing how ephemeral are any gains we make and how permanent is their loss of life? Building Wall – Nothing is Changed Israelis living in the “Gaza Envelope” criticized the military’s building of a defensive wall over the last few days. “If walls are built, the concept of security has not changed. We continue to defend ourselves as if nothing happened. We were neglected then and we are being neglected now,” said a resident of the Gaza Envelope, who lost her son during the Hamas attack. “Walls did not stop the Hamas terrorists from penetrating through them and slaughtering children and the elderly and raping women. So why will they succeed this time?” she asked. The Second Stage - Destruction of Hamas Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich expressed conditional support for the first phase of the proposed hostage deal, emphasizing that Israel must resume its campaign to eliminate Hamas immediately after.
Zionism is the Jewish National Independence Movement Please, Donate and Support SHAMRAK Report Food for Thought: by Steven Shamrak It is painful, but not surprising, to see how deeply anti-Semitic the world still is! Using the ‘Poor Palestinians’ as a cover, the UN (‘Ugly Nazi’), and usual Jew-hating suspects in Europe and America, are still denying Israel the right to exist in peace on the Jewish ancestral land, which rightfully belongs to Jewish people even in accordance to the modern international law. Since 1947, ‘THEY’ have been systematically undermining the legitimacy of the Jewish state and facilitating its destruction! In 1922, British illegally ceded 77% of the land designated for the Jewish state, Trans-Jordan, to Arabs. It is not enough for ‘THEM’. There are over 50 Muslim countries, including 22 Arab states. They can easily absorb permanently 2 million terrorism supporting residents of Gaza. Israelis Divided on Ceasefire Deal The announcement of a ceasefire agreement being reached between Israel and Hamas elicited contrasting reactions from two groups representing the families of those still being held in Gaza. The first phase of the deal (extortion), in which 33 hostages are to be returned in exchange for at least 990 Palestinian prisoners. The Tikva Forum of Hostages’ Families criticized the deal as a dangerous compromise with a terrorist organization, which “leaves dozens of hostages behind in Gaza. It also sets the stage for the next massacre and future kidnappings of Israelis.” By contrast, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum expressed “overwhelming joy and relief” at the agreement, and advocated making greater concessions to Hamas. (Hamas has 98 hostages left in total, less than a half of them alive.) Trump’s Ultimatum was Aimed at Israel When incoming president Donald Trump warned that there would be “hell to pay” if a hostage deal was not signed before he came into office, the message was seemingly directed just as much at Israel as Hamas. Special Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff reportedly told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Trump had said in no uncertain terms, “Make the deal.” “The president has been a great friend of Israel and now it’s time to be a friend back,” Witkoff said to Netanyahu. Hamas Pledges to Repeat Oct. 7 Massacre Senior Hamas official, Khalil Al-Hayya, pledged to repeat the Oct. 7 massacre just hours after ceasefire agreement: October 7 will continue to be a source of pride; Our people served as an “Impenetrable Shield” for the Resistance; Israel’s supporters will be punished, even if it takes time. Judge Julia Sebutinde, the Ugandan jurist, who recently made headlines for her robust defense of Israel against South Africa’s genocide allegations, is set to assume the presidency of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). She dismissed South Africa’s requests for temporary injunctions to halt the Gaza war. The transition in leadership comes at a crucial juncture, with Israel scheduled to present its defense brief against South Africa’s case in July. (It is nice to know that there are people in powerful positions who support Israel.) A Kuwaiti writer and media personality, Fajer Al-Saeed, an activist who called for peace with Israel, was sent to a 21-day detention for ‘Normalization with the Israeli occupation and harming the interests of the state.' Supreme Court Shielded Terror Compensation Law The Supreme Court rejected thePalestinian Authority appeal to overturn terror compensation law. Amit ruled that "we will begin and say what is absent from the petition but deserves to be said: The Palestinian Authority pays terrorists, and members of their families significant amounts of money and benefits, in close connection with the criminal acts of terrorism they committed." The law allows victims of terrorism to demand compensation from the entity that finances it. Another Biden's Act of Hate for Israel The United States has implemented new export restrictions on advanced artificial intelligence (AI) chips in a move that is certain to affect Israel’s tech industry. Israel is a world-leader in AI. Israeli companies and research institutions must now provide detailed justifications for these imports and await US government approval, despite having been largely instrumental in the development of the chips in the first place. In contrast, 18 other US allies are exempt from the new rules. Al-Jazeera is the Voice of Muslim Brotherhood The PA and Israel agree that Qatar’s Al-Jazeera, bullhorn for the Muslim Brotherhood, promotes jihad, radical Islam, and terrorism. On January 1, the Palestinian Authority (announced the suspension of Al-Jazeera’s broadcast operations in Judea and Samaria. Since the beginning of the Gaza war, Al-Jazeera has been serving as the semi-official mouthpiece of Hamas. The station regularly broadcasts exclusive footage of terrorist attacks on Israeli soldiers and provides a free platform for the terror group’s leaders and spokesmen. Israel closed down Al-Jazeera a while ago. What "Hell Breaking Loose” Means President Trump said, “All hell would break loose” if the hostages in Gaza aren’t freed by his inauguration on January 20. Vice President-elect J.D. Vance explained: “It means enabling the Israelis to knock out the final couple of battalions of Hamas and their leadership. It means very aggressive sanctions and financial penalties on those who are supporting terrorist organizations in the Middle East. It means doing the job of American leadership”. The IDF has said that only two out of twenty-four Hamas battalions remain, but the delay in dismantling them is due to intelligence indicating that the battalions are holding most of the remaining hostages, and the IDF is concerned that operations may harm the captives. The PA Must Pay Its Electricity Bills Israel has recovered funds that will pay for a decade-old $1.1 billion Palestinian Authority electricity debt by diverting money from the Norwegian Fund where money for the PA has been deposited since the beginning of the war. Half of the funds will be paid to companies that provided fuel to the PA, and the other half will go to Israel’s electric company. Last spring, when Norway announced that it recognized a Palestinian state, the Finance Minister Smotrich stopped sending money to the Norwegian Fund and diverted the money to a new account. (What about other unpaid bills, and compensation to victims of terror?) Quotes of the Week: "Releasing hundreds of murderous terrorists, with blood on their hands? This is a deal that rewards terrorism and is a victory for Hamas. We are fighting the war in Gaza with tied hands, with many restrictions imposed on us. We are waiting for the moment we can change our approach in the war in Gaza. I am sure that if President Trump thinks deeply, he would not want a victory of the axis of evil over the free world in his name and will not support a deal that rewards murderous terrorism." - Orit Strock, Minister of Settlement Affairs. The Deal isn’t Saving 33 Lives by About 12,000 terrorists, released by previous governments of Israel, murdered about 2,750 Israelis. Just add up the numbers. The deal isn’t saving 33 lives-it’s slaughtering more innocents. How could this be? Here is the exact blood count based on past deals. Basically, this is the data that defence establishment chiefs have traditionally refused to collect, but we did it for them: FACT-1. During the first intifada, 164 Israelis were murdered by 1,150 terrorists released in the Jibril deal in 1985. FACT-2. During the second intifada, more than 1000 Israelis were murdered by 9,200 terrorists released during the Oslo period (1990’s). FACT-3. More than 40 Israelis were murdered by 450 terrorists released in the Tannenbaum deal in 2004. FACT-4. About 1,160 were murdered on 7 October, and more than 400 combat soldiers, more later on were murdered - by 1,027 terrorists released in the Shalit deal. This vicious, notoriously barbaric group of terrorists who were set free to keep up their ‘good’ work, included both Sinwar and Ali Al Qadi, the commander of the Nuhba force. Released Terrorists will Murder more Jews A protest against the emerging hostage deal is underway at the entrance to Jerusalem, demanding that the government require Hamas to release all hostages immediately. Relatives of hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza urged Zionist politicians to leave the government if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agrees to a deal with the terror group that leaves some abducted Israelis in captivity. “Any partial deal with Hamas will turn the hostages into even more valuable assets, and will endanger the lives of soldiers and other hostages,” relatives wrote.
