Leftists Question Support for Palestine

This is an extract of an online discussion by some LGBTQ+ and ideologically Left-inclined people, I accidentally found during the search for an article material on the same subject. The subject of the conversation: “The hypocrisy of unconditional support of Palestine”.

-      Generally, people on the left tend to have this mentality to support the victim no matter what, never let the oppressor win no matter who he is. I am a radical leftist myself but something really bugs me here: how Palestine's usually terrible actions are ignored. Palestine is not a good place to live for anybody but straight Muslim Arab men. Homosexuals are literally routinely killed; women are confined to their homes, stripped of their rights, and non-Muslims share the same fate under the draconian regime. We as leftists and people in the LGBTQ+ should be more careful about who we condone and support.

-      I never understood why leftists support Palestine. It is against everything they stand for. They are anti-democracy, anti-LGBTQ and pro-terrorism. Leftists currently all out support the terrorists and make excuses for the rockets, suicide bombings, and killing of homosexuals. Israel is the only true democracy and pro-LGBT country in the Middle East. Leftist should be celebrating this and not trying to destroy it.

-      “Palestine” is a colonialist construct, and the asserted modern identity is purely fabricated as an Islamic tool to continue centuries of persecution of Jews in the service of hegemony. Any false equivalency ignores Jews right to exist in their ancient homeland and to national self-defence. We as leftists need to do much better to understand the history and truth of this conflict.

-      It is amazing how "the Left", that loves to support the underdog, somehow has no problem with persecution of one of the smallest and shrinking minority populations on earth, Jews.

Shana Tova Umetuka!

Next Year in Eretz-Israel.

Food for Thought: by Steven Shamrak

I left the Soviet Union because the Communist government sponsored Antisemitism. One can confront an individual Jew-hater, but what can we do against a rotten governmental Jew-hating system? Unfortunately, I see the same ugly similarities emerging in supposingly democratic societies. News outlets are systematically allowed, if not encouraged, by some governments to indoctrinate the public using anti-Israel bias information (it has nothing to do with free speech). Terrorists are portrayed as a victim, and the Jewish state as an aggressor. Many countries have recognised ‘Palestine’ a never existed state of the fake people. I guess, Antisemitism has always been there. It was just hiding for 80 years, after the Holocaust!

Zionism is the Jewish National Independence Movement.

Killing Jews vs Aid to Gaza

Two Israeli soldiers were killed in a shooting and stabbing attack near Allenby Crossing at the border with Jordan on Thursday. The assailant was a Jordanian who had been driving a humanitarian aid truck headed for the Gaza Strip. (For the enemies of Israel, killing Jews is always more important than delivering aid to ‘starving’ Gazans.)

US Vetoed UN Ceasefire Resolution

The United States vetoed a UN Security Council resolution demanding a swift and unconditional end to the war in Gaza, as did 13 other countries. This marks the sixth time the US has used its veto power on this issue since the outbreak of the "Iron Swords" war. Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon criticized the resolution: "For some council members this is a performance, for Israel this is daily reality. The proposal was presented without condemning Hamas, without condemning the October 7 massacre, and without demanding Hamas disarm.”

Successful Test of Iron Beam

The Defence Ministry and Rafael Advance Defence Systems announced successful completion of a series of tests of the Iron Beam high-power laser system. "The system proved its effectiveness in a complete operational configuration by intercepting rockets, mortars, aircraft, and UAVs across a comprehensive range of operational scenarios," the Defence Ministry stated.

Pakistan, Saudis Signed Defence Agreement

The agreement, called the “Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement,” was signed by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, pledging that any attack on either nation would be considered an attack on both. The agreement "aims to develop aspects of defence cooperation between the two countries and strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression,” the statement said. (In short, Saudis are 'buying' Pakistan’s nuclear 'deterrent'. This news has not been really reported and analysed by any ‘experts’.)

Fiji Opened Embassy in Jerusalem

During the official dedication ceremony of the Fijian Embassy in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Netanyahu welcomed the Fijian delegation and praised the decision to establish the embassy in Israel's capital. “Welcome to our capital of last 3,000 years.” Netanyahu emphasized the historic and spiritual significance of Jerusalem, stating, "Here, next to the walls of our ancient city, the prophets spoke, the kings of Israel ruled, and some of the greatest insights of human faith and values were inscribed here."

Militias are Terrorist Organizations

The US Department of State announced the designation of four Iran-aligned militia groups as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). The groups designated are Harakat al-Nujaba (HAN), Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS), Harakat Ansar Allah al-Awfiya (HAAA), and Kata’ib al-Imam Ali (KIA). (In spite of the fact that Hamas and Hezbollah are recognised as terrorist organizations, most media outlets call their terrorists “militants”.)

Gaza Clans Turn on Hamas

Local clans across Gaza are pushing back against Hamas control, forming understandings with the IDF. Armed clans across the territory have begun asserting local control and, in some cases, directly challenging Hamas rule, deploying hundreds of armed operatives at key entry points to prevent Hamas security forces from regaining control. (Where were they before?)

Is Peace between Egypt and Israel in Jeopardy?

Following Israeli strikes on Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar, Arab leaders convened to formulate a response, with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi warning that the cold peace between Egypt and Israel would be in jeopardy if the attacks continued. (Will the weak peace between Egypt and Israel survive the removal of Gazans from the strip to Sinai?)

Threat of pan-Arab War against Israel

Pakistan signals support for the united anti-Israel front. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar hinted at the possibility of joining a proposed unified front against Israel. Pakistan has “very large” and “effective” armed forces that have proven their capabilities in conventional warfare, Mr Dar, who also holds the foreign affairs portfolio, said.

Top Anti-Semite said "Horrendous" but not Genocide

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres refused to legally define the situation in the Gaza Strip as genocide, in the wake of a UN report which concluded that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Israel has committed acts of genocide against in Gaza. He described the situation as "horrendous" and stated that the power to make a legal determination of genocide "belongs to the adequate judicial entities, namely the International Court of Justice." (Even the main UN Israel hater can't officially agree with this anti-Semitic report.)

Enemies Within

Israeli police detained former Knesset member Hanin Zoabi on suspicion of inciting terrorism and affiliating with a terror group, as she “publicly identified with a terror organization and incited to terror.” In her address, she asserted that Palestinians “cannot differentiate between Hamas and the Palestinian people” and claimed the October 7 attackers “didn’t enter Israeli borders, they entered their own land.”

Quote of the Week:

"In 72 pages, it would have made sense to mention how it all started with a massacre, a Hamas massacre of 1,200 Israelis. Burning babies, cutting heads off, raping women - does it make sense to you that they omitted all of that and started only after? Every time we identify a terrorist in a civilian building, we notify the people in that building well in advance. Millions of leaflets and tens of millions of text messages. That's not genocide. We've allowed two million tons of aid, of which 1.6 million are food, into Gaza. We've conducted 600,000 polio vaccines for kids in Gaza. Is that genocide?” - Naftali Bennett, former Israeli Prime Minister – No other country did for its enemies during a war what Israel has done for Gazans, in spite of their strong support for Hamas. The Anti-Semites of the ‘Ugly Nazi’ do not care!

Who were Fake Palestinian Refugees?

by Yoram Ettinger

Contrary to conventional "wisdom,” most Arabs in British Mandate Palestine – and most of the 320,000 1948 Arab refugees – were migrant workers and descendants of the 1831-1947 Muslim immigrants from Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, and Syria, as well as from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen, Libya, North Africa, Bosnia, India, Afghanistan, etc.. Britain enticed Arab immigration and blocked Jewish immigration.

Thus, between 1880 and 1919, Haifa’s Arab population surged from 6,000 to 80,000, mostly due to migrant workers.  The eruption of WW2 accelerated the demand for Arab manpower by the British Mandate’s military and its civilian authorities.

Moreover, Arab migrant workers were imported by the Ottoman Empire, and then by the British Mandate, to work in major civilian and military infrastructure projects.  Legal and illegal Arab migrants were, also, attracted by economic growth, which was generated by the Jewish community beginning in 1882.

According to a 1937 report by the British Peel Commission (featured in the ground-breaking book, Palestine Betrayed, by Prof. Efraim Karsh), “during 1922 through 1931, the increase of Arab population in the mixed-towns of Haifa, Jaffa and Jerusalem was 86%, 62% and 37% respectively, while in purely Arab towns such as Nablus and Hebron it was only 7% and a decrease of 2 percent in Gaza.”

Irrespective of occasional Arab emigration from the British Mandate of Palestine – due to intra-Arab terrorism, which has been an endemic feature in the Middle East - the substantial wave of Arab immigration from 1831-1947 triggered dramatic growth of the Arab populations in Jaffa (17 times), Haifa (12 times), and Ramla (5 times).

This unusual Arab/Muslim demographic diversity is evidenced by popular Israeli Arab family names, which are a derivative of their countries of origin: al-Masri (Egypt), al-Obeidi (the Sudan), al-Lubnani (Lebanon), Halabi (Syria), al-Mughrabi (Morocco), al-Djazair (Algeria), al-Yamani (Yemen), al-Afgahni (Afghanistan), al-Hindi (India), al-Hijazi (Saudi Arabia), al-Baghdadi (Iraq), Bushnak (Bosnia), Khamis (Bahrain), Turki (Turkey), etc.

Thus, contrary to the myth of the 1948 Arab refugees – aiming to delegitimize Israel - Arabs have not been in the Land of Israel from time immemorial; No Palestinian people were ever robbed of its land. There is no basis for an Arab “claim of return”; and most of the 320,000 Arab refugees – who were created by the 1948 Arab invasion of Israel and their own collaboration with the invasion – were recent immigrants and foreign workers (from neighbouring Arab countries) in the Land of Israel. (Immediately after the United Nations decided to make their refugee status permanent, and to pay them for participation in anti-Israel international bigotry, their number was promptly inflated and even doubled!)
