Keeping the PA Afloat as is a Mistake

Backed into fears and fantasies of their own making, Israeli leaders showed once again, that they’d rather keep turning Jewish citizens into punching bags than deliver the knock-out punch that would bring the conflict to a final end.
Announcing a slew of “practical” measures meant to keep the Palestinian Authority and Hamas (don’t deny it; that's who is running the show) from collapsing, we can only thank G-d, that the Arabs threw it back in our fainthearted faces.
Regardless, everyone knows the favours will still go forward and the Palestinian Authority will continue to pay their terrorists, and teach their children to hate Jews.

At the same time, Israel must work to restore Law and Order in the Israel- Arab and Bedouin sectors. Law abiding citizens and residents make the State of Israel a safer, better place to live for them and for us.

IDF Haredi Reservists Condemn the Refusal to Serve
More than a thousand fighters and commanders from the Netzah Yehuda Battalion, Haredi companies Hetz and Tomers, and Haredi veterans of the Military Intelligence and Air Force sent a letter to the Defense Minister and the IDF Chief of Staff. They wrote: “The security of Israel is above everything else. We declare our commitment to volunteer and serve, at any time and in any task that is required, routine and emergency, for the sake of the people and the State of Israel.”
Biden Refuted Netanyahu’s Portrayal of Conversation
The Biden administration was displeased with how Netanyahu’s office portrayed their phone conversation, which the Prime minister’s office described as “warm and long”, and wanted to “correct” it. White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said that the president has been “very clear” about his ongoing concern about the judicial overhaul and “the need for the broadest possible consensus.” Notably, no invitation was mentioned in the White House readout of the call, which emphasized, among other matters, the US president’s ongoing concern about the judicial overhaul. Biden said “shared democratic values have always been and must remain a hallmark of the US-Israel relationship.” (Look who is teaching Jews about democratic values! At the same time, Biden is disrespecting the sovereignty and democratic rights of the best ally the United State has.)
Over 3,600 Terror Attacks in First Half of 2023
In the first six months of 2023, the Israeli emergency service recorded 3,640 acts of terror throughout Israel, including 2,118 cases of rock-throwing, 799 attacks with Molotov cocktails, 18 attempted stabbings and six car-rammings. The number of reported shootings has already surpassed last year’s total, with 101 instances of gunfire directed at Israelis. Palestinian terrorists have murdered 28 people and wounded 362 others since January.
Israel is expected to deploy the world’s first laser defence systems within approximately 18 months. Gaza, Lebanon and Syria are all good candidates for the Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Iron Beam, which has been in development for nearly 20 years. The laser system will be integrated directly into the Rafael-made Iron Dome air defence batteries, which have been in operation since 2011. Algorithms will determine when to activate the lasers and when to fire the kinetic Iron Dome interceptors, known as Tamir missiles.
Israel Recognised Western Sahara as Part of Morocco
- Israel has recognised Moroccan sovereignty over the disputed territory of Western Sahara. The Algerian-backed Polisario Front demands an independent state in Western Sahara. In 2020, then-US President Donald Trump recognised Morocco’s claim to the territory in return for its partial upgrade of relations with Israel. (Will Morocco recognize Israel's sovereignty over Judea, Samaria and Gaza? Is it just another one-way friendship of convenience?)
- King Mohammed VI of Morocco has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit the North-western African country. “The invitation was issued in a warm personal letter in which the king thanked the State of Israel for its willingness to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty in Western Sahara,” the prime minister stated. A visit by Netanyahu would “open up new possibilities for strengthening relations between our countries,” wrote the Moroccan king. (An invitation for Netanyahu to visit the White House is still "in the mail".)

With little or no financial support and no ad agencies promoting their message, Zionist-leaning and other sane rank & file Israelis are beginning to reverse the tide of the anarchist attack on Israel’s democratic institutions. A week ago, on Monday afternoon, Channel 14’s host of the popular political show “The Patriots,” Yinon Magal, launched an online petition calling on anyone who has served in the IDF to join the side of citizens who oppose the refusal to serve. Almost 75K reservists signed anti-refusal petition overnight, and 500 doctors opposed the IMA Strike.

The Oslo Debacle - Thirty Years Later

As the 30th anniversary of the Oslo Accords approaches more and more will be written. It was Israel’s overarching attempt to make peace. It backfired. Instead of peace, Israel has gotten unbridled terrorism. Unlike the Abraham Accords which have been more of what a Peace agreement with the Arabs should look like, the Oslo Accords have only brought grief to Israel.
The very same Leftists who are attacking Prime Minister Netanyahu today were the ones who constructed the Oslo Accords and gave guns to terrorists.
Arafat had no real intention of making peace. His aim was to wreak havoc on Israel from Ramallah rather than from Beirut or Tunisia.
Thousands of Israelis were either killed or wounded from the moment Arafat set foot in Israel until he died in 2004. Mahmoud Abbas who took over has continued the “pay to slay” activities started under Arafat. Even though the Taylor Force Act of 2018 tries to curtail US Taxpayer money being sent to Abbas for his “martyrs fund”, terrorism still is promoted and paid for by Abbas and his henchmen.
America continues to send 600 million dollars annually to the PA. For 30 years the US taxpayers have funded the PA to the tune of 18 billion dollars. In addition to direct payments to the PA, the US sends about 300 million dollars annually to the UNRWA (in 2022 it was 344 million) which reaches the PA indirectly. Despite these huge sums of money, terrorism against Israelis is rampant and peace is more distant than ever. The Oslo Accords have been an absolute lesson in futility.
After 30 years it is time to give up on a non-working and dangerous charade that simply has not produced peace. Oslo must be torn down and a new process started from scratch. Everyone will gain if that approach is taken. Otherwise, we all continue to lose. Israel has suffered enough over 30 years from an experiment which has gone bad.
