…The billions of dollars in American military credits that Israel enjoys (and about which it is continuously reminded by both ‘friends’ and
enemies) - a vast
corporate welfare program that benefits Pentagon defence contractors as much as
it benefits Israel's military. (In addition it
provides constant flow of cash from oil-rich customers and other players in the
Middle East to the bank accounts of American military industry. After all, ‘the
balance of power’ is so important for the United States!)
…Israel's rise to becoming a regional superpower was accomplished without
any significant help from the United States. Israel's surreptitious program to
build nuclear weapons was (allegedly) accomplished with the aid of the British and the French, who joined with
Israel (actually solicited Israel) to seize the Suez Canal from Egypt's rabble-rousing President Gamal
Abdel Nasser, and who were then forced to give it back by Dwight D. Eisenhower (including the Sinai). The Israeli air
force pilots who destroyed the Egyptian, Syrian, and Jordanian air forces on
the ground flew French-made Mystère jets - not American-made F-4 Phantoms. The
U.S. Congress did not appropriate a single penny to help Israel accommodate an
overwhelming influx of Holocaust survivors and poor Jewish refugees from Yemen,
Iraq, Egypt, and other Arab countries until 1973 - 25 years after the founding
of the state. (over 850,000 Jews fled Muslim
countries!)
…(later) Israel traded its freedom to engage in
high-risk, high-payoff exploits like the Suez Canal adventure or the Six Day
War for the comfort of a military and diplomatic guarantee from the wealthiest
and most powerful nation in the world. As a regional American client, Israel
would draw on the military and diplomatic power of its distant patron in
exchange for allowing America to use its control over Israel as leverage with
neighboring Arab states. With each American-brokered peace treaty - from Camp
David to the Madrid Conference to Oslo and Annapolis - the United States has
been able to hold up its leverage over Israel as both a carrot and a stick to
the Arab world. "Do what we want, and we will force the Israelis to
behave"… (Therefore, by controlling Israel the
United States gained enormous political and economical advantage in dealing
with oil producing Arabs!)
Legal System is being used to Paralyse pro-Israel
Lobby. The
Justice Department is considering dropping its case against two former
pro-Israel lobbyists accused of illegally disclosing national defense secrets.
Trial has been postponed at least nine times. The charges against Rosen and
Weissman fall under the 1917 Espionage Act, a rarely used WorldWar1 era law
that never before has been applied to lobbyists. (After putting
the pro-Israel lobby, AIPAC, on the defensive, the Bush administration was able
to push through the Annapolis Accord – and the idiocy of a two-state solution!)
Food for Thought.

They the demand creation of a new state
for so-called Palestinians only, and the removal of 250,000 Jews from Judea and
Samaria without recognition of Israel as the Jewish state. The next step is
obvious: Israel must end the fake peace process, which is being imposed on Jews
by anti-Semitic international hypocrisy, and remove the enemy population from
Jewish land. Any other country would have done it a long time ago.
Another Ambush
for Israel. President Barack Obama has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Palestinian Authority President
Mahmoud Abbas to meet him at the White House. (After a show of unwillingness to see
Israel’s Prime Minister during his planned visit to the United States, which he
had to cancel, President Obama is setting up a trap for Netanyahu in order to
pressure Israel to accept the stupidity of a two-state solution. I wonder when
are they going to look at the Sinai Option: Road to Permanent Peace?)
Thriving ‘Palestinian’ Culture. Juliano Mer-Khemis, founder
and director of a Jenin theater, was accused of immorality and corruption in
one flyer distributed in an area mosque. PA Muslim extremists have escalated
their threats against other cultural activities: the al-Kamanjati music center
and Jenin’s teen orchestra were targeted with violence as well.
Is Netanyahu Another False Hope? Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu denies
that he ever demanded that the Palestinian Authority accept Israel as a Jewish
State before he agrees to launch negotiations with it. Following Netanyahu’s
meeting with U.S. Envoy George Mitchell a senior official in Netanyahu's office
quoted the Prime Minister as telling Mitchell, "Israel expects the
Palestinians to first recognize Israel as a Jewish state before talking about
two states for two peoples.” (Some
analysts have described Netanyahu as a gutless politician who crumbles under
pressure. After all it is he gave up Hebron and allowed perpetuation of the
Oslo war. I hope they are wrong this time!)
Non-recognition is Provocation! Nabil
abu-Rudeinah, spokesman for PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas called Netanyahu's words
a provocation and rejected the demand made earlier by Prime Minister Binyamin
Netanyahu that the PA recognize a Jewish State of Israel as a precondition for
continuing negotiations with Israel. (For 16 years, since the Oslo agreement,
every subsequent agreement has called for the recognition of Israel. Why must
Israel negotiate with an enemy who just wants destroy the only Jewish state?)
Perpetuation of
Terror is Profitable for US. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak is hoping to
buy a U.S. missile defense system to protect communities in southern Israel
against short-range rockets and mortar fire from Gaza. During Israel's recent
military offensive into the Gaza Strip, Palestinians there fired rockets more
than 28 miles into Israel. They continue to lob mortar shells across the
border. (Removal of the terror-infested cancer from Jewish lands – Judea,
Samaria and Gaza – would make life in Israel safer and cheaper!)
New Approach
Needed. Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman told United State Middle East envoy
George Mitchell that a new approach is needed between Israel and the Arabs,
considering that wide-ranging concessions offered to the Arabs in the past
resulted in wars.
Quote of the Week:
"In the case of the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict, we believe that the two-state solution, two
states living side by side in peace, is the best and the only way to resolve
this conflict." - The US envoy George Mitchell – By now, the US
is notorious for its false ‘belief’ policies: War in Iraq was justified by
falsified claims of nuclear and chemical weapon programs and a delusional
belief in the possibility of building a democracy in an Arab state; the Taliban
is still strong in Afghanistan and Pakistan; North Korea has renewed its
nuclear program; Iran has never stopped its and Pakistan has the A-bomb for a
while! Must Israel sacrifice Jewish lives to deliberate delusions, if not
anti-Semitic, beliefs?
Under the Smoke
of War. During
Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip, Hamas security forces or masked gunmen
believed to be with Hamas extra-judicially executed 18 Palestinians, mainly
those accused of collaborating with Israel, and beat and maimed dozens of
political rivals, especially members and supporters of Fatah. Palestinian human rights groups have
reported 14 more killings between January 18 and March 31. (Crimes were committed by Hamas during Israel’s
recent offensive against terrorists in Gaza. There are no calls to bring Haneya
to the International Criminal Court for Justice!)
Anti-Semitism:
Catalyst of the International Hypocrisy.
Only nine countries (Israel, the United States,
Germany, Australia, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, and Poland)
boycotted the UN Conference on Racism in Geneva. Twenty-three nations of the
European Union made a farcical show and walked out during the conference to
protest Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s attack on Israel. Only the
Czech Republic has left the conference for good. Over
100 countries approved an anti-racism declaration at the Durban II UN
racism conference in Geneva last Tuesday. The text reaffirmed, although did not
refer to Israel by name, the 2001 Durban I declaration, which singled out
Israel as racist.
Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad
Al-Malichi spoked at the Durban II U.N. anti-Semitic conference in Geneva, a
day after Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and said that "the Israeli
occupation is the ugly face of racism" (He did not say
that the PA is a genocidal entity created and aimed on the destruction of
Israel. No one remembers that after the Oslo agreement, Israel allowed the PA
to self-govern in Judea and Samaria, and left Gaza a few years ago,
after the forcible deportation of 8,500 Jews. What are the achievements of the
PA so far: evolution from stone-throwing to Katyusha rockets? Fatahstan and
Hamastan have become murderous and economically/politically dysfunctional
wastelands!)
