P. David Hornik: A day after announcement of a Fatah-Hamas rapprochement in Cairo, PA president Mahmoud Abbas said he would keep pursuing peace talks with Israel. Almost concurrently, top Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar said Hamas would stick to its stance of neither recognizing nor negotiating with Israel. Abbas’s statement appears to reflect a strategy of retaining his image as a moderate despite the reconciliation with Hamas. Agreement suggests Hamas is willing to play along with the game.

Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu: The Hamas-Fatah agreement announced on Wednesday is a fatal mistake that will allow terrorists to rule Judea and Samaria and ruin the chances for the establishment of the PA as a country, President Shimon Peres (‘dove’ of Israeli government) said on Thursday afternoon that the agreement, if implemented, means there will be a continuation of rocket attacks, a continuation of the murder of innocent civilians, and the continuation of Iranian interference that supports and finances terror in our region.

Barry Rubin: The agreement is a preparation (justification for recognition of the statehood of the fake nation) for the UN to claim that the PA is the sole, legitimate representative of the ‘Palestinians’. Naturally, the accord will break down, presumably, after the PA gets a lot of support for being an independent country later this year and before projected PA elections in 2012.

Professor Louis Rene Beres: The fragile existential situation in an incrementally chaotic region is made more worrisome by the US President Barack Obama's misguided support for a "Two-State Solution". The Palestinian side (Hamas, Fatah, it makes little difference) still seeks only a One-State solution (on all their maps, Israel is already drawn as a part of "Palestine").

There is No Peace Option with Enemies of Israel

Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar said that joining the new Palestinian unity government does not mean that Hamas recognises Israel. “Our plan does not include negotiations with Israel or recognition of it,” and added that it would be “impossible for a national transition government to take part in the peace process with Israel.”

There are still many conflicts in the world that were created due to arrogance, greed and stupidity of the British political establishment. Northern Ireland, Fiji, the conflict between India and Pakistan, and Palestine – are just a few of the most well known ones. Wasted Lives and Billions on Fake Friendship

1. Pakistan is lobbying Afghanistan's president against building a long-term strategic partnership with the US, urging him instead to look to Pakistan and its Chinese ally for help in striking a peace deal with the Taliban and rebuilding the economy. Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani bluntly told Afghan President Hamid Karzai that the Americans had failed them both.

2. At least eight international troops, a contractor and an Afghan air force pilot were killed in a shootout at Kabul international airport following an argument between the supposedly allied forces. (There are no demands to stop wasteful financing of Muslim ‘friends’. The anti-Semitic mob only screams about aid to Israel - the best ally the United States ever had!)

The Plan is - Two States Solution without Israel

The PA has carried out Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s threat to “wipe Israel off the map” and literally has done so by displaying maps of “Palestine” covering all of Israel while its leaders talk about “two states for two people.” (Time is long overdue to remove this fake, terror infested population from all Jewish land!)

Surprise: UN can be Objective

The UN released a report alleging war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by both sides during the Sri Lanka's decades-long civil war. The 196-page panel, published on 25 April, concluded that both government forces and the separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) conducted military operations with flagrant disregard for the protection, rights, welfare and lives of civilians and international law during the final months of the war. Tens of thousands lost their lives from January to May 2009, many of whom died anonymously in the carnage of the final days. (International objectivity has never been applied to Jews or Israel!)

UN in no Rush to “Protect Civilians”

The UN Security Council failed to reach an agreement on Wednesday over a statement that would condemn the violence by security forces against demonstrators in Syria. (The ‘Ugly Nazi’ is always prompt in condemnation of Israel!)

No Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

"There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza" categorically states Mathilde Redmatn, the deputy director of the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip.

"If you go to the supermarket, there are products, she said, as reported on the IDF website. There are restaurants and a nice beach.  The problem is mainly in maintenance of infrastructure and in access to certain goods such as concrete. Israel has the legitimate right to protect its civilian population...”

She acknowledged that Israel has eased its closure on Gaza and has partially lifted export bans.

"Rocket fire from the Gaza Strip is against international law because it is directed at civilians," the Red Cross official said. "We conduct confidential or bilateral dialogue with Hamas on the matter. As time passes, the dialogue also develops." 

She said that the Red Cross has also asked to meet with captive soldier Gilad Shalit: "When a person's freedom is taken away, he deserves at least contact with his family. We will continue to ask but we do not have the capability to force anything on Hamas. Hamas' refusal is based on security reasons. Hamas is afraid of the IDF's advanced technological capabilities and believes that allowing contact will lead to the location of Gilad."
