Liberman on Hypocrisy and Racism!
(Personally I am not his fan, but he has a point.)
Liberman: The dividing line for Yisrael Beytenu is who supports terror and who fights terror. We cannot accept that there are people in Israel that even during even the war openly supported Hamas. First of all, [I propose] to outlaw these parties and these political leaders [who supported Hamas]. When I suggested the exact procedure like in the United States for the pledge, everybody here said, "You're a racist, you're a fascist."
What is [the] reason for so longstanding a conflict? Many people say it's about occupation, settlements, settlers, etc. I think that's a misunderstanding. Before 1967, it was the same. And what was before 1948? It was the same.
We respect every American administration, every American president. We'll respect any choice [of] the American people. We expect you [to] respect any choice of the people of Israel.
The problem is hypocrisy. Every time people [politicians] from the United States start to condemn Israel's violations of human rights, [I tell them] I'm still waiting for a congressional hearing on human rights in Saudi Arabia. After that, I'll be ready to hear about human rights in Israel, not before. (While investigating Saudi Arabia, focus must be made on modern slavery, women and religious rights, and support of terrorism. But, strangely and predictably, most of the international human right organizations as well as government are mute about Saudi Arabia’s ‘behaviour’!)
Hamas has Spelled It Out to ‘Optimists’! Among the conditions of Hamas for forming a Palestinian Authority unity government with Fatah will be the abrogation of all agreements with Israel. In an interview with a newspaper in the United Arab Emirates, top Hamas terrorist Mahmoud Al-Zahar said that Hamas would not change its policy on refusing to recognize Israel, even if it works out a unity deal with Fatah. He was quoted as saying: "The Zionist entity is a foreign power that has nothing to do with the land of Palestine and this alien body should get out of our lands."
Another Prove of International Hypocrisy. Egypt said it will open the Rafah terminal for two days on Wednesday to let students and sick people leave and enter Gaza. The Rafah crossing has been closed since June 2006. – Egypt has never been pressured and condemned, like Israel, by international anti-Semites to open the Rafah crossing!
Food for Thought. by Steven Shamrak
Quite often in order to cover up the promotion of anti-Israel ideas the press portrays Hillary Rodham Clinton as a "friend of Israel". Her current conduct and the comments she made when she was the first lady proved contrary. It is time for Jewish leaders and wishful-thinking Jews stop supporting the anti-Israel policies of our enemies! We must end the self-destructive idiocy of the 'politicly correct' appeasement!
‘Friend’ of Israel does Nothing by Accident. United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told children in a televised interview on Ali-Soutak, a Palestinian Authority (PA) TV station, that she hopes to "connect up our two countries."
‘Humane’ Islam. In Saudi Arabia, a 75-year-old widow was sentenced to 40 whip lashes and three months in prison for having met with two men who were not close family. The two were bringing her bread.
British MP Openly Funds Hamas. British MP George Galloway donated 100 vehicles and thousands of dollars to Hamas. He dared European and British courts to try him for funding a terrorist group. “If you want to take me to court, I promise you there is no jury in all of Britain who will convict me.” (He is so confident that Europe has returned to its traditional anti-Semitic behaviour. Is he right?)
Terror Infested People. A recent poll by the PA Center for Policy and Survey Research shows that while Fatah still leads Hamas in support from Palestinian Authority Arabs. Haniyeh (Hamas) now leads with 47 percent support to Abbas's (Fatah) 45 percent. (One can’t change them. We must remove them from Jewish land!)
Look Who is Barking. Cuba teamed up with a consortium of Arab countries at a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council last Wednesday to vent their anger against Israel. They accused the Jewish State of grossly violating the rights of PA children. (Interesting that countries with ‘the best’ Human Rights record making the accusations. As it is said, “Offence is the best defence!”)
Hevron: Muslims Desecrate Jewish Holy Texts. Muslims in the city of Hevron were allowed to access the entire Tomb of the Patriarchs (Maarat HaMachpelah) last week in honour of the birthday of Mohammed. Worshipers took advantage of the opportunity to desecrate Jewish holy texts, including prayer books and books of Psalms. (No outrage or condemnation is expressed by the anti-Israel press. This kind of desecration of Jewish and Christian places has been going on ‘unnoticed’ for a long time. Yet again, deafening silence!)
Quote of the Week: "Recent news reports suggest that the Obama administration intends to solicit the help of American Jewish leaders to sell its prescription for Middle East peace to their constituents. The strategy is to shore up Jewish support in order to lend credibility to President Obama's foreign policy, regardless of how ill-advised or detrimental for Israel." - by Matthew M. Hausman - This is not a new political invention. The Soviet Union had done it. British and even Iran did it! Throughout all history kings and various governments have forced Jews to ‘support’ their masters’ anti-Semitic ‘orgies’!
The Freeman Affair. Lawmakers who led the successful campaign against the selection of Charles “Chas” Freeman said their concerns always had less to do with his criticisms of Israel than his financial ties to Saudi Arabia and a Chinese oil company with business dealings in Iran. "There was a steady revelation of financial conflicts of interest involving foreign powers that were troubling," said Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) But Freeman lashed out at his critics, releasing a statement blaming "the Israel Lobby". (His comments on China and Tibet, and his financially benefiting from involvement with a Chinese oil company and Saudi Arabia have nothing to do with a conflict of interest? Yes, his anti-Israel bias attitude was also a factor!)
Childish Sanctions. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said during at a ceremony launching the next phase of the development of a natural gas field, one day after President Obama extended by a year U.S. economic sanctions on Iran, the United States "thought that with childish and ugly behavior they could stop a great nation and its capable experts from moving toward accomplishment," (of the Iranian Nuclear weapon dream)
No International Aid, No Sympathy or Outrage! Israeli children of Sderot played in a new fortified indoor playground during its inauguration ceremony. Brightly painted walls surround a mini-soccer field, video games climbing wall and play areas. The converted warehouse also has a new thick concrete roof, a half dozen shelters and an alert system to give a 15-second warning of incoming rockets.
Esther’s Conspiracy. An Egyptian cleric, Safwat Higazi one of the most learned and respected buffoons among Egypt's Islamic clergy, has exposed conspiracy of the Starbucks chain: the Jewish heroine of the Purim story, Esther, is the power behind the worldwide coffee empire. He insists, beyond the shadow of a decaffeinated doubt, that the mascot of Starbucks is none other than Queen Esther! (This is the magnitude of the madness of the enemies Israel is facing!)
Israel Has No Better Friend in Area? Turkey's ambassador to Israel said that his country is Israel's best friend in the region. He said not to dwell on Turkey's recent criticism of Israel's counter-terror operation in Gaza, and called on people to move on. (No apologies were offered! There is a Jewish saying “If there is no fish in the market, yabby is not a fish” and Turkey is not a friend.)
Yesha Residents are Happier. Jewish residents in Judea and Samaria are extremely satisfied with their living conditions, while those in Tel Aviv are among the least satisfied, according to a new poll. (Being a Jewish nationalist on the front line against Israel’s enemies gives people a sense of purpose and control of their own lives and this makes people feel happier!)
Just Another Predictable Insincerity!
Pope Benedict XVI will not visit Israel’s Holocaust museum when he makes his first trip to the region as pope in May. But he will become the first pontiff to visit the Dome of the Rock, one of the holiest sites in Islam (not the Western Wall, the holiest site of Judaism?), and he will have time to meet Mahmoud Abbas. The announcement that Pope Benedict will visit only part of Yad Vashem also follows international outrage over his rehabilitation of a rebel bishop who denied that the Nazis systematically murdered 6 million Jews in the Holocaust. (It would be prudent and self-respectful if Israel forbade this unholy pontiff entry into the Holy Land!)
